Breast Revision FAQs
It can be very disappointing when a breast enhancement surgery does not provide the results you are looking for. Excess scar tissue can form around the breasts, causing discomfort and an unattractive appearance. Improperly placed implants can shift over time, leading to an asymmetrical look to the breasts. Scars may be too visible or uneven. Sometimes implants can deflate, or there may be other complications related to a breast enhancement procedure.
Breast surgery revision at the Denver offices of Dr. Frank Campanile can address an unsatisfying outcome achieved by another surgeon so as to help women look their best and feel better about their surgical results.

Q: Am I a Candidate?
A: If you’ve undergone a breast enhancement procedure, whether a breast lift, breast augmentation or breast reduction, and are unhappy with the results, you may be a good candidate for a breast surgery revision from Dr. Campanile. Although you should maintain realistic expectations about the results, breast surgery revision can help you get much closer to the end result you initially envisioned. Imagine finally feeling less self-conscious about the appearance of your breasts, and happier with the results of your new breast enhancement.
Q: What Happens during Surgery?
A: Because each revision breast surgery case is unique, Dr. Campanile may use one of several techniques at his surgical facilities in Denver. Breast surgery revision methods may involve removal of scar tissue around an implant (known as capsular contracture), replacement of an implant, revision of scars, correction of asymmetry, or a number of other techniques to improve breast appearance. The primary goal is to choose the strategy that is right for every individual woman, and all surgical techniques will be customized accordingly.
Q: What Is the Recovery Like?
A: Recovery should be very similar to what you experienced following your initial surgery, and will vary depending on how much work was done and how quickly your body heals. For the most part, you should be able to resume your normal routine in a week or so, although exercise and other vigorous activities will need to wait until you’re more fully healed.
Q: What about Scarring?
A: Dr. Campanile will make every effort to work with the existing incisions in order to minimize scarring. Much like your initial surgery, the secondary incisions will fade over time. If excessive scarring is one of the reasons for your breast surgery revision, there are methods that can be used to facilitate the healing process and reduce the appearance of existing scars.
Q: Are There Risks?
A: There are always risks with any surgery. However, the risks for breast surgery revision are usually not any higher than for your initial enhancement surgery.
