Cosmetic Plastic Surgery in Denver, Colorado
Dr. Francesco Campanile is a board-certified plastic surgeon in Denver, Colorado.
This patient presented to Dr. Francesco Campanile because she was unhappy with the depleted volume and sagging of her breasts. Oftentimes, after breastfeeding and with increased age, a woman’s breast volume can become depleted. As a result, some women develop pseudoptosis of the breasts. Pseudoptosis is a form of pseudo-sagging, meaning that unlike true ptosis where the nipple is lower than the inframammary fold, the nipple is instead at the level of the inframammary fold. Breast tissue still falls below the fold, which gives it the sagging appearance.
Typically with ptosis/pseudoptosis and depleted volume of the breast, the best solution is a breast augmentation coupled with a breast lift. However, this patient was concerned with the scars involved in a breast lift procedure. Because she did not have true sagging of the breast, she was a candidate for a breast augmentation using a high profile implant that would give her a lift effect. By using an implant with a higher profile, it can raise the nipple slightly above the inframammary fold, giving the breast a perkier appearance.
As you can see, after this patient’s breast augmentation surgery with Denver board certified plastic surgeon, Dr. Francesco Campanile, the appearance of her breasts was greatly improved. Not only does she have increased volume of the breasts, but the breasts are much perkier and more symmetrical than they were pre-operatively. After undergoing breast augmentation surgery with Dr. Campanile this woman reported that she is very happy with her result, and feels more confident in the way her breasts look.
