Not sure what to do before breast augmentation to help yourself prepare? How about during and after your procedure? Getting ready for your breast enhancement procedure can be as easy as following these three tips.
-
Do Your Homework before Your Consultation
Your breast augmentation consultation is an excellent time to ask questions and make sure you and your plastic surgeon are both clear about your goals. However, if you’re not quite sure what to ask or what your goals are, you won’t get the most out of this one-on-one time with your plastic surgeon.
Do a little research beforehand to help you prepare. Jot down the questions you want to remember to ask before getting implants, such as:
- Are you board-certified?
- Am I a good candidate for breast implants?
- Should I add a breast lift?
-
Follow Pre-op Instructions
To minimize the risk of complications and see the best breast enhancement results, it’s important that you follow your plastic surgeon’s pre-op instructions closely. These might include things like giving up smoking for several weeks before your procedure, avoiding alcohol for the week leading up to your breast enhancement surgery and not eating or drinking anything the night before.
On the day of your breast augmentation, wear comfy, loose-fitting clothing that zips or buttons in the front so you don’t have to pull it over your head.
-
Take Time to Recover
After getting breast implants, you’ll need to take some time off of work and other daily dutiesto give your body a chance to rest and recover. Plan to avoid strenuous exercise for the first few weeks after your procedure, and resist the urge to try to push yourself to do too much too soon.
