This patient scheduled a consultation with board certified plastic surgeon, Dr. Francesco Campanile, because she was unhappy with the appearance of her back. Dr. Campanile’s Denver, Colorado plastic surgery practice specializes in surgery of the breast and body and so this patient traveled from several states away to meet with this plastic surgery expert. During her consultation, she expressed her concern with the excess fat deposits in her back. Because her skin quality was quite good, Dr. Campanile recommended liposuction to address her concerns.

As you can see in this patient’s after photo, the contour of her back is significantly improved. The back is one area of the body that typically responds very well to liposuction, as the skin is usually thicker in that region and so skin laxity is not as much of a concern. Using a tumescent liposuction technique, Dr. Campanile was able to remove multiple liters of fat aspirate, greatly improving the contour of this patient’s back region.
