Here in Denver, my LATISSE® patients have increased quite a bit, and our practice isn’t the only one seeing this trend. The makers of LATISSE®, Allergan, report that overall sales for LATISSE® have risen over 18 percent in the second quarter of 2012. What makes LATISSE® so popular?
Who Uses LATISSE®?
LATISSE® is a product that’s FDA-approved to promote thicker, fuller eyelashes.* For many women, this could mean an end to constant makeup application as well as an end to thin, sparse eyelashes.* It’s simple to use, just apply like eyeliner the last thing at night before going to bed. Results are typically seen in just a couple of months.* LATISSE® offers a treatment option for those complaining about lashes being too thin, too short, or just not attractive enough.
Increasing Popularity
Another reason we may be seeing a rise in LATISSE® users is because Allergan has begun clinical trials for other uses, specifically restoring hair loss in men and thinning hair in women. Although men currently can use Propecia as a treatment for male-pattern baldness, this option is not safe for women to use. There really aren’t any viable alternatives for women suffering from thinning hair other than messy creams and topical applications that may or may not work. If LATISSE® proves successful and gains approval from the FDA as a treatment for hair loss in women, the popularity of the drug will grow even more.
If you feel self-conscious about your lashes and want to learn more about LATISSE®, our practice is ready to answer any questions you may have.
