Q: I’ve done as much research on BOTOX® as I can but I still don’t feel ready to make my decision. How will I know it’s the right choice for me?
A: Doing your research is an important part of making your decision, but there does eventually come a point when it feels like you’ve read everything there is to read about BOTOX®. When you reach the point where you don’t feel like more research is helping, I would suggest scheduling a consultation to get a better idea about your options. A consultation will offer you more in-depth, personalized information about the results you can expect from BOTOX® without committing to an appointment date. Think of it as a risk-free assessment if you’re on the fence about whether you’re comfortable with moving forward.
Q: I’m only in my twenties but I have wrinkles around my mouth and eyes. Am I too young for BOTOX®?
A: Facial wrinkling affects us all at some point. It can be frustrating to be on the younger end of the aging spectrum but find that you’re already noticing those crow’s feet. Rest assured that BOTOX® is a safe option for adults of any age, and starting younger may even have a preventative effect that helps slow the development of future wrinkles. However, it’s important to note that BOTOX® won’t effectively address all types of facial wrinkles. BOTOX® is very effective at treating lines around the forehead and eyes, but if you’re noticing wrinkles around your mouth or cheeks, injectable fillers may be a better option.
Q: I want to look younger but I’m worried that BOTOX® injections will make me look “frozen.” Is this something I should be concerned about?
A: There’s nothing artificial-looking about high quality BOTOX® results when treatments are administered by an experienced injector. BOTOX® works by inhibiting the movement of facial muscles in specific areas, but shouldn’t drastically numb your face or make it obvious that you had injections. You’ll be able to express emotions just as you did before, though you may notice that the decreased presence of wrinkles slightly modifies your appearance more than you’re used to.
Q: One of my friends is throwing a “BOTOX® party” at her house where a bunch of people will receive injections from a doctor. Is this a safe practice?
A: While it’s understandable to want to receive your BOTOX® injections in a comfortable environment, I always recommend having the treatment performed in an actual clinic by a board certified plastic surgeon. While the injections should technically be safe if administered by a licensed injector, coming to a medical clinic can help ensure that you receive only the highest quality results.
