This patient came to Dr. Francesco Campanile because she was unhappy with her breast appearance. Women with large amounts of breast tissue often experience drooping of the breasts with age, and feel self-conscious about their appearance.
Dr. Campanile reviewed this patient's case and recommended a breast lift. The best candidates for a breast lift can be determined by the pencil test. To perform this test, you place a pencil in the fold underneath the breast. If the nipple is significantly lower than the location where the pencil sticks out of the fold, then usually the individual is a good candidate for a breast lift. During this procedure, the nipple and surrounding tissue are anchored higher, giving the breast a more youthful appearance. Dr. Campanile uses the 'lollipop' technique, which leaves minimal scarring around the areola and the underside of the breast.
This patient is shown here approximately 3 months after surgery. She is very happy with her results, and feels confident about how her breasts look.
