This woman came to board certified plastic surgeon, Dr. Francesco Campanile, because she was interested in having cosmetic surgery. Large breasts can often become painful for women and so they seek surgical means to decrease their size.
After reviewing her case, Dr. Campanile recommended breast reduction surgery. During the reduction fat, glandular tissue, and skin from the breasts is removed. This makes them smaller, lighter, and firmer. Because no muscle is affected during this procedure, it is considered to have a short recovery time and relatively low pain. The main concern during recovery is scar management. Unlike many surgeons who use stitching assistants, Dr. Campanile does all of his own sutures, giving patients a better guarantee of more minimal scarring.
This patient is shown here approximately 5 months after surgery. She is happy with her results and feels more confident about how her breasts look.
