Case #175

This patient approached board certified plastic surgeon Dr. Francesco Campanile because, she felt that her breasts were too large. Oftentimes, large breasts can not only be a nuisance for women but, can also be painful. This causes them to seek surgical intervention to decrease their size.

After reviewing her case, Dr. Campanile recommended breast reduction surgery. During the reduction fat, glandular tissue, and skin from the breasts are removed. This makes them smaller, lighter, and firmer. This procedure causes a relatively low amount of pain during recovery because, only breast tissue and not muscle is affected. As a result, recovery time is also relatively short and scar management is the main focus. Because Dr. Campanile does all of his own stitching, the scarring is minimal compared to other surgeons who use stitching assistants to place their sutures. 

This patient is shown here approximately 3 months after her breast reduction surgery. She is very happy with her results and feels more confident about her breast size.
