What Should You Do the Day before Breast Augmentation?

It’s only natural to get some little pre-procedure jitters the day before plastic surgery, but keeping yourself busy getting prepared can help ease your mind.

If you’re not quite sure what to do before breast augmentation, follow these three steps to help ensure a smooth transition home and an easy first few days of recovery.*

Prep Your Recovery Space

When you get home from your breast enhancement, all you should worry about doing is resting and relaxing. So make sure all chores are done beforehand, like laundry, grocery shopping, dusting and taking out the garbage.

It’s also a good idea to get your bedroom or other relaxing breast augmentation recoveryspace set up the day before. Put clean linens on your bed, or get extra pillows and blankets if you’d like to try sleeping in a recliner for the first few nights. You’ll also want to stock up on plenty of entertainment like books, crossword puzzles and maybe even a Netflix subscription if you don’t already have one!
Have Comfy Clothes Ready

For the first few days of recovery, wear shirts that button or zip in the front so you don’t have to lift your arms over your head.

Make the morning of your breast augmentation go as smoothly as possible by setting out your surgery-day outfit the night before. Choose a button-down or zip-up shirt and comfy, loose-fitting pants like sweatpants. Don’t worry about wearing a bra to your appointment—your plastic surgeon should send you home with a special surgical bra to wear home.
Follow Your Plastic Surgeon’s Eating and Drinking Restrictions

You’ll probably be asked to avoid eating or drinking anything after midnight before your breast enhancement, with the exception of taking a small sip of water with any approved medications in the morning. Don’t be tempted to cheat on these restrictions, as they’re related to your health and safety during surgery while under anesthesia.
