After pregnancy, it’s common for mothers to want to get their pre-baby bodies back. There Is No Single Answer
There is such a thing as too soon. Three months is the minimum waiting period that most reputable plastic surgeons will consider, with many only scheduling tummy tucks six months or more after childbirth. Your body needs enough time to heal from pregnancy and labor before a major surgery is a viable option.

Other Factors to Consider
Every woman will recover from childbirth at different rates, so don’t rush yourself.
These additional variables can will determine when you might be ready for tummy tuck surgery:
- If you are still actively breastfeeding or were in the last three months.
- If you have a significant amount of weight loss ahead of you.
- If you want to have more children. While you can get pregnant after a tummy tuck, it may require you to have a revision tummy tuck in the future.
- If you have the help you need at home. You’ll need someone to help you take care of little ones while you recover.
