When patients come to my office in Denver for Restylane® treatment, I’m always excited to have another opportunity to use this dermal filler. Although there are several different fillers on the market available today, and at a similar price, there are many reasons I prefer Restylane® and recommend it to my patients.
Fillers vs BOTOX®
First of all, let me clear up some misconceptions. Although BOTOX® is a popular injectable, dermal fillers are not the same thing as BOTOX®. In my Denver practice, BOTOX® patients are going to need an alternative if their desired goal is to plump up their lips or fill in deep lines. BOTOX® is FDA-approved to temporarily prevent the treated muscles from working to deepen wrinkles,* but can’t add volume.
Advantages of Restylane®
Restylane® is one of several hyaluronic acid fillers, but it’s the only one made of non-animal based hyaluronic acid. Other alternatives are based on substances like rooster combs. Since Restylane® doesn’t use this type of ingredient, the risks of allergic reaction are lowered even further.* The hyaluronic acid used for Restylane® is completely biocompatible and biodegradable for the ultimate in safer cosmetic procedures.*
I also love Restylane® because it’s a great multi-purpose injectable. I can use it to help soften existing wrinkles and fill in deeper wrinkles or scars, or I can build up lip or cheek volume to add additional definition.* It’s temporary, so you don’t have to be married to the results, but many of my patients have found the results are longer lasting than the competition.*
