Once you’ve decided to visit our Denver medical spa for a wrinkle treatment solution, we’ll likely talk with you about both BOTOX® Cosmetic and JUVÉDERM®. What’s the difference between the two treatments? They’re both FDA-approved treatments with results-driven track records, but they treat two different kinds of wrinkles.* Which is right for you?
* BOTOX® Cosmetic is a refined injection of botulinum toxin type A. This neurotoxin treats wrinkles by causing temporary paralysis at the site of injection.* BOTOX® has many other FDA-approved uses such as treating migraines and excessive sweating.*
* JUVÉDERM® is a dermal filler that literally fills in wrinkles, plumping up deteriorating or weakened skin tissue where collagen levels have dropped.* JUVÉDERM® can also be used for lip augmentation and to correct additional fat loss in the face.*
Results
Another area where BOTOX® Cosmetic and JUVÉDERM® differ is how soon you’ll see results and how long the results last. Although individual results vary, BOTOX® Cosmetic results generally appear about a week after treatment, and last about three to four months.* JUVÉDERM® results can often be seen immediately after treatment, with results lasting up to 12 months.* Regardless of which treatment is chosen, the depth and extent of wrinkling also impacts the duration of noticeable results.*
So, what’s the right injectable treatment for your wrinkles? Luckily, you won’t have to make your decision alone. During your consultation, we’ll discuss the pros and cons of both products and come to a decision together about which one is best for your appearance goals. Then, we can set an appointment at our medical spa in Denver for you to start looking your best.
