Our bodies are not symmetrical. We have feet and hands of slightly different sizes, one eye is usually a slightly different shape from the other, and most women have naturally asymmetrical breasts. Most of the time, the difference isn’t enough to notice. However, in some cases, a breast augmentation from our Denver offices may be needed to even things out.*
Causes of Uneven Breasts
There are many reasons why breasts may be uneven. Sometimes during puberty, breasts may seem uneven at first because one side develops more rapidly, but then even out later in life. Other times, the breasts do not even out. Developmental conditions or infections can cause uneven breasts. Body changes due to pregnancy or nursing, weight fluctuation, or changes due to gravity and aging can all impact the symmetry of breasts. Having a portion, or all, of the breast removed through a lumpectomy or mastectomy will also cause asymmetry.
At our initial consultation, we’ll work together to determine the cause of your asymmetry, and discuss the best options to achieve the look you want.* The bottom line is that you don’t have to feel bad about the way you look. Asymmetrical breasts are extremely common, and breast augmentation is one of the most popular methods used to address the issue.*
